Mayor Fermin M. Mabulo
Mayor Fermin M. Mabulo hails from San Fernando, Camarines Sur. A graduate of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1995 in Baguio City, he served and protected the peace and security of the country in the Armed Forces of the Philippines as an officer assigned in the hinterlands of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao specializing in Counter Terrorism Operations.
In 2003, he played a pivotal role in organizing the Oakwood Mutiny, for which he was jailed for his convictions and fight against corruption. He went on to live in the United Kingdom, where he was a Security Consultant for a large high profile private company. In the year 2007, he returned home to the Philippines where he won as municipal Mayor for his hometown, San Fernando, and served as Mayor for a full term. Following his term, he was appointed as Provincial Administrator of Camarines Sur, and consecutively, the Head of the Task Force Sagip Kalikasan (Environmental Protection Task Force).
He was a member of the International Election Observer Delegation in Jakarta, Indonesia during the election of President Joko Widodo. He was a Fellow and Mentor for the Asian Political Leadership Program for Leaders on the Rule of Law and Policy, at Thailand Institute of Justice in collaboration with Harvard Law School for Asia and the Pacific.
He once again ran for Mayor and won the election by a large margin of votes. Currently, he is the incumbent Municipal Mayor of San Fernando, and the President of the League of Municipalities Camarines Sur Chapter, serving his second term for both positions.
Under his leadership, the town of San Fernando came to the forefront of good governance and became a recipient of numerous awards and commendations. To name a few, Mayor Fermin Mabulo was awarded as one of the Ten Outstanding Local Chief Executives, Rank 6, by the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Region 5.
Under his term, San Fernando’s Rural Health Unit was Awarded the best health program in Bicol Region and Best Implementor in the Municipal Category.
Under Mayor Mabulo’s term, San Fernando was the Regional Best Municipal Police Office for Oplan Double Barrel Implementation, the Regional Best Accounting Office, the National Best Local Civil Registry Office Small Category ranking 8th Place, the National Best Municipal Agriculture Office, and DILG Good Financial Housekeeping.
Mayor Fermin was recently elected as the Chairman of the Board of the Philippine Red Cross, Camarines Sur Chapter. Most importantly, he is proud to be married to former Miss Michelle De Guzman and blessed with a beautiful and talented celebrity chef daughter named Louise.
